Creswick Theatre Company Inc.

The Creswick Theatre Company is an amateur theatre company located in Creswick Victoria, a short 10min drive from Ballarat.

Formed by a group of local theatre enthusiasts in 1981 as Creswick Amateur Theatre, we staged our first production in the Creswick Town Hall. We have since become Creswick Theatre Company (CTC), an incorporated body, and moved to our permanent location in the Creswick Courthouse Theatre in Raglan Street, Creswick.

We specialise in providing cabaret style seating for most of our theatrical productions, which is very popular with patrons.

CTC produce a variety of theatrical entertainment, including:

  • well-known musicals such as HMS Pinafore, Oliver, Salad Days, Brigadoon, Guys and Dolls and more
  • dramatic and comedic productions
  • staged play readings
  • family friendly entertainment
  • hosting performances at our Theatre which are produced by other theatre companies

We have also been incredibly lucky to stage plays, pantomimes and musicals from playwrights Carol B Cole and Deborah Martin, after they moved to our district, and have provided opportunities for many actors and off-stage personnel (some of whom have moved on to bigger stages).

CTC prides itself on providing audiences with quality and value-for-money entertainment, and is operated voluntarily by interested members who give their time and resources freely. Income from each production is returned to the group for use in the next production and for necessary building maintenance.

Anyone with an interest in theatre will be given an opportunity to become involved, regardless of experience. Assistance with set building, lighting, sound, costumes or other front of house or back stage roles are just as important to us as our performers.
